Volunteer Coach
Do you believe in the power of accomplishment and the strength of camaraderie? Are you passionate about encouraging self-esteem among girls? Then being a coach is the most rewarding way to get involved in Girls on the Run! As a GOTR coach, you can empower girls to GET ACTIVE and learn to value their own strength, individuality and inner beauty.

Girls on the Run is a fun, interactive after school program for 3rd to 5th grade girls that combines training for a 5K race, life skills lessons and group discussions to promote positive choices for a lifetime of self respect and healthy living.

Each program of girls meets twice a week with two to four coaches to play active running games while exploring issues such as body image, media awareness, nutrition, emotional health, positive communication, community service and more. After 12 weeks, the program culminates in running, jogging or walking a 5K event! Our volunteer coaches have the best job in the program. They get to participate in each girl's experience of self-discovery, perseverance and growth!
